Design & Sculpting
Once accurate plans have been sourced sculpting can begin. We use an epoxy putty material called Milliput together with
parts turned on a lathe, and a wide range of tools to form the
parts that will make up the aircraft. Our aircraft design and sculpting techniques have evolved over many years to allow us to recreate highly detailed accurate models.
The sculpting process begins with accurate plans and takes several weeks to complete using a wide variety of tools.
Parts formed from Milliput require several stages of adding material. Initially these parts are very crude but after filing and then applying more Milliput until the correct profile is eventually achieved.
Completed parts are test fitted. Larger parts do not have detail added at this stage.
Small parts are also made from Milliput.
